Summary of Our Services

  • We inspect commercial premises and give business advice

  • Investigate accidents and safety complaints

  • Prioritise key safety hazards topics – falls from height, workplace transport, musculoskeletal disorders, slips and trips and stress

  • Aim to achieve government targets by 2010 to reduce:

    • the number of days lost to accidents and ill health by 30%

    • the incidence of ill health by 20%, and:

    • the incidence of accidents by 10%

  • Work in partnership with the Health & Safety Executive and other organisations for the benefit of local businesses

 

Our awareness campaigns include the Fit for Work, Fit for Life, Fit for Tomorrow health and safety programme.
