Nail bars are a rapidly expanding small business sector. This report addressed Local Authority enforcement officers’ concerns about the potential health risks involved with nail treatments and identified areas where further research is needed.

Launched in February 2006, the two-year Workplace Health Connect pilot has now come to its planned end. Funded and managed by HSE, Workplace Health Connect was designed to give tailored advice on workplace health, safety and return-to-work issues to SMEs in England and Wales.
