Health and safety guidance and self assessment for tourist accommodation providers, available either to download below, or on the East Sussex County Council website to complete online.

The new Fit For Purpose scheme provides hotels, guest houses, B&Bs and other accommodation providers in East Sussex with advice and support on a wide range of legal issues.

Self Assessment Checklist for Accommodation Providers

If you are a manager or owner of an accommodation business, you can complete a self-assessment checklist that identifies where you are meeting your legal obligations and where you need further advice.

The health and safety checklist is part of a pack covering other legal topics, which must all be completed at the same time and returned together to East Sussex Trading Standards Fit For Purpose team, who will then forward them to the organisation that deals with each topic area.

You will then receive advice on any areas that need improving from the service provider. This will be Eastbourne Borough Council Environmental Health for health and safety, if your business is in Eastbourne.
