Your Business Rates bill is worked out by looking at your rateable value and using the National Non-Domestic Rating Multiplier Calculator.
Business rates bills are also adjusted based on reliefs and transitional arrangements.
If you know the rateable value of your business you can work out your charge by using the calculator on the mybusinessrates website.
The National Non-Domestic Rating Multiplier is set by the Government. The rating changes from the 1 April every year.
The amount by which the multiplier increases is controlled by law. It cannot be more than the amount of the retail price index [a key measure of inflation]. The exception is in a re-evaluation year when it can increase by more than the retail price index.
