Find out what kind of events you can apply for in Eastbourne using our street party road closure application.

A street party is:

  • a small scale event where attendance at any one time does not exceed 150 persons

  • for residents and neighbours only

  • with publicity only to residents

  • self-organised by the local residents

  • usually with music incidental and no selling involved

We Love Street Parties

The council is keen to encourage and support small scale street parties in Eastbourne by making it as easy as possible for you to apply for permission.

We will not normally charge for road closures for street parties or other small scale events by charitable or community organisations.

Do You Need a Licence?

No licences are normally necessary if music is incidental to the event and no selling is involved.

In this section you can find out what permissions you need for street parties (usually a road closure application), and any additional permissions or licences needed for certain activities or larger events.
