Advertising Gambling Licence Applications

Guidance for gambling premises licence applicants in Eastbourne under the Gambling Act 2005. Find out what you need to do to advertise your application.

Newspaper and Site Notices

Except for a fast track conversion application, all applications for premises licences must be advertised as follows:
 
  • by giving a Notice of Application on the prescribed form to all the Responsible Authorities within seven days of submitting the application
  • by publishing a notice of the application in a local newspaper or, if there is none, a local newsletter, circular or something similar on at least one occasion within a period of ten working days starting on the day after the application is submitted
  • by displaying a notice at the premises in a place where it can be conveniently read from the exterior of the premises for a period of not less than 28 consecutive days starting on the day on which the application is submitted

Forms for the public notices are available to download in Word or PDF versions from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) website.
 
The Licensing Authority will not be able to determine an application if these requirements are not complied with.
 
A Responsible Authority or an Interested Party may make a representation about an application within 28 days after the application has been made to the Licensing Authority.
