Personal Licence Renewal Application Forms

Personal licence ID card

Personal licences to sell alcohol need to be renewed every 10 years.

Apply to us if you live in Eastbourne.

If you work in Eastbourne, but live elsewhere, apply to the district or city council where you live.

What Do You Need to Send to Us?

  • Your completed application form

  • Your current Personal Licence, or a statement on your application form explaining why you cannot enclose your current licence
  • Two photographs of yourself, one endorsed - see below
  • The completed disclosure of criminal convictions and declaration form
  • A basic criminal record check from Disclosure Scotland - see below
  • A cheque for the fee of £37, payable to 'Eastbourne Borough Council'

You do not need to send anything to the police.

Photographs

The two photographs of the applicant should be identical and be:

  • taken against a light background so the applicant’s features are distinguishable and contrast against the background

  • on photographic paper, passport size: 35mm wide, 45mm high

  • full face uncovered, without sunglasses and, unless the applicant wears a head-covering due to religious beliefs, without a head-cover

  • properly endorsed – one photograph must be endorsed as a true likeness by the chief executive of the licensing justices, a solicitor or notary, a person of standing in the community or an individual with a professional qualification

Basic Criminal Record Disclosure

Applicants are required to produce a Criminal Record Bureau Certificate in order to substantiate whether or not they have a conviction for any unspent relevant offence.  This certificate mustbe issued no earlier than one calendar month before the date of the application to the council.
