You need to place a public notice in a local newspaper, and a site notice outside your premises, for the following types of alcohol and entertainment licence application under the Licensing Act 2003:
new premises or club premises certificates
variations to premises licences and club certificates
applications for a provisional licence statement for new premises

You must place a public notice, using the format attached below:
Site Notice at your Premises
This notice must be displayed:
for at least 28 consecutive days starting on the day after the application was given to the council (Licensing Authority)
prominently at or on the premises to which the application relates where it can be conveniently read from the exterior of the premises
and if a premises covers an area of more than fifty metres square, a further notice every fifty metres along the external perimeter
all A4 size or larger, on pale blue paper
printed legibly in black ink, or typed in black in a font size 16 or larger
In Eastbourne, the council prefers you to use of the landscape format A3 notice form attached below, which should be printed onto pale blue paper
What details must your notices include?
For premises licence or club premises certificate applications:
For applications for a provisional licence statement:
must state that the representations are restricted after the issue of a provisional statement
where known, may state the relevant licensable activities which it is proposed will be carried out on or from the premises
and for all applications:
the name of the applicant or club
the postal address of the premises or club premises, if any, or if there is no postal address for the premises a description of those premises sufficient to enable the location and extent of the premises or club premises to be identified
the postal address and website address where the public register of applications is kept by the council and where and when the record of the application may be inspected
the date by which an 'interested party' or Responsible Authority may make representations to the relevant council
that representations shall be made in writing or using the online form on this website, and
that it is an offence knowingly or recklessly to make a false statement in connection with an application and the maximum fine for which a person is liable on summary conviction for the offence
