Local businesses have benefited from our free salt reduction campaign resources in Eastbourne for healthier eating out and takeaways.
Our aim is to promote NHS advice on salt reduction by raising consumer awareness and improve health.
Free Resources for Business
Environmental Health Officers from our food safety team have visited targeted businesses in Eastbourne and provided free:
-
5 hole style caps to replace their 17 hole caps
-
original salt shaker bodies
-
low-sodium salt supplies
-
campaign posters to display and leaflets to pass onto customers
Research has suggested that slashing the holes from the traditional 17 to five could cut the amount people sprinkle on their food by more than half. Your customers will reduce their salt intake without noticing.
The key messages of the campaign can be translated into other languages including Polish, Traditional Chinese, Bengali, Farsi and any others requested.
Most people eat too much salt. Find out why too much salt in your diet is bad for you - go to Salt Advice for Consumers using the link from this page.
