Business Advice Events
The council's Environmental Health service runs local events and initiatives to help support food businesses in Eastbourne. Talks to local business groups by our Environmental Health Officers have included:

a talk on preventing back pain and slips and falls in catering to Chinese catering workers in Eastbourne, at one of their social meetings held at Parklands Infant School

a talk to Sussex Care Homes Association about the importance of management systems in food safety

a free food safety awareness training session in Portuguese to approximately 20 Ward Assistants at Eastbourne District General Hospital.

Free Seminars and Coaching Sessions
During 2006-2007 Eastbourne council Environmental Health food safety staff worked in partnership with Lewes and Wealden councils, SOMPRITI - the Black and Minority Ethnic support agency - and consultants from CMi to offer free Safer Food, Better Business seminars and coaching follow-up to local small businesses.
