The Overseas Student Advisory Committee (OSAC) is a partnership made up of:
It has been recognised that language school student visitors are a positive economic impact on the town. In 2009, language school students contributed £17 million to our economy. Information provided to OSAC has shown that during 2009 there were 28,207 students in Eastbourne.
Following joint discussions over the winter of 2006, the OSAC Committee has agreed to work to a joint protocol for the safety and protection of language school student visitors to Eastbourne.
The protocol sets out what the police will do if an incident occurs during a student’s stay, how language schools will work with host families to plan for activities and the safe return of students.
