Overseas Student Advisory Committee

The Overseas Student Advisory Committee (OSAC) is a partnership made up of: 

• Language Schools;

• Local transport providers;

• Sussex Police; and

• Officers from Eastbourne Borough Council.

The objectives of OSAC are to: 

1. Ensure the welfare of language school student visitors to Eastbourne.
2. Ensure fair balance of transport provision for language school student visitors, other visitors to the town and local residents.
3. Monitor crime incidents involving language school student visitors through Operation Columbus.
4. Annually monitor the number of language school student visitors in Eastbourne and the economic impact.
5. Follow government guidance and law changes e.g. student visas, CRB checks and vetting and barring, and understand and share local implications.
6. Report results annually to Eastbourne Borough Council.

The OSAC group meets at least 4 times a year.
