Two special beds were planted at the western end of the Carpet Gardens for the summer 2005 season. This was part of the national celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Battle of Trafalgar.
The local Premier Travel Inn at Willingdon Drove sponsored part of the cost of the special commemorative beds.
The photo above is the Admiral Nelson floral bed and the photo to the right is the HMS Victory floral bed.
The beds are close planted with approximately 22,000 foliage plants that are trimmed about every two weeks to keep the designs neat and well defined.
