Many of Eastbourne's amenities, attractions and shopping areas are fully accessible for disabled people.
There have been some great improvements in access over recent years, with the seafront promenade now accessible from Holywell in the west to Langney Point five miles to the east.

Easy Access Trail
In the Summer of 2004 a new Easy Access Trail was established between Butts Brow and Birling Gap on the South Downs.
Access Improvements
Unfortunately there are still many areas where access is restricted, and Eastbourne Borough Council is committed to making further improvements. The Council's Access Officer is available to give advice or hear any comments regarding access in Eastbourne.
Eastbourne Access Guide
Over forty years ago we brought out the first access guide, "Eastbourne for the Disabled". The Access Guide is now an award-winning booklet. It provides information on as many aspects and features as possible, which we consider disabled people need to allow them freedom to go where they wish within the town.
You can request a printed copy of the Eastbourne Access Guide from this section. Alternatively, you can download the guide and the associated wheelchair route maps.
